Our 20th annual golf tournament was held on Friday, August 5th, 2011 at Kingwood Country Club. The LBCA Golf Tournament is an important fund-raiser that benefits the Tallulah-Persimmon, Wildcat, and Lakes Volunteer Fire Departments. This year was especially important because of the tornado that destroyed the Wildcat Fire Station in April 2011.

The tournament had 15 teams comprised of 60 players. After a welcome by LBCA Golf Chairmen, Bob Fink and Sam Dixon; and LBCA President, Linda Dixon; the tournament began with a "shotgun" start at 9:30 AM. The day was hot and sunny, but the heat did not dampen spirits - and the scores were better than ever!  Following play, the teams met at the clubhouse for lunch and presentation of prizes.  Placing 1st was the team of Jeff Jackson, Mike Shiflett, Rich Chitwood, and Mark Segars. Placing second were Jim Wallace, Zac Brouch, Whit Marshall, and Jack Marshall.

We are truly grateful to all who made this event a success for the benefit of area fire departments. Our thanks go to the players and many sponsors and contributors who provided generous donations by sponsoring golf holes and provided prizes for the tournament.
