The LBCA Foundation Scholarship
Fund Needs Your Support!

Sean Thompson
I'm grateful for the LBCA Scholarship as it has removed a substantial financial burden from me attending college.  I'm lucky to be receiving a world class education at Georgia Tech.  Housing partnered with facilities and class resources, such as textbooks and computer software, all demand a hefty sum over the course of four years and with this scholarship the load is much less to bear.  Thank you, LBCA!”

Receiving the Lake Burton Association Scholarship has been a huge blessing for me and my family. With my brother and I both in college this year, my parents were concerned about meeting the needs for both of us, especially with the pandemic happening.  Most of my classes have been online and are very time consuming, leaving me less time to work. Without this scholarship I would have been struggling to juggle college and work.  Currently, I have a 92 GPA and am an officer in the Student Government Association. I am so thankful and blessed by LBCA having faith in me, and I’m working hard to not only make you proud, but to take advantage of every opportunity available to me.  Thank you so much for this blessing!

These above quotes are from two of the 29 Rabun County students who were LBCA Foundation Scholarship recipients in 2020.  These scholarships were provided through generous donations by LBCA members like you!

In 2020, six "Named Memorial/Honorary Multi-Year Scholarships" were awarded.  These scholarships provided students with annual support for four years at a university ($1,250 - $3,000/yr.) or two years at a technical school ($750/yr.).   In addition, 23 individual one-year scholarships were awarded ($2,000 - $2,500).

Will you help us reach our 2021 goal of $100,000?

It is time for us to kick off another scholarship drive to raise funds that will be awarded in May of 2021.  We need your help by contributing to deserving Rabun County students to help them achieve their maximum potential!

This year’s goal is to double the number of Named Memorial/Honorary Multi-Year Scholarships awarded and increase the number of One-Time Scholarships given.

There are two ways to contribute to a scholarship online:

1.  One-Time Scholarship:
There are four tax-deductible options offered:  Bronze $200, Silver $300, Gold $500 and Platinum $1,500.  You may make more than one selection.  (For example, to donate $1,000, add two gold contributions to your cart.)

2.  Two-Year or Four-Year Named Memorial/Honorary Scholarship
There are five tax-deductible options.  Follow this link to visit the Named Memorial/Honorary Scholarship page:  Named Memorial / Honorary Scholarships

Select the type of Scholarship to which you would like to contribute and complete the requested information.  Selections for scholarships will be made in the spring of 2021.  Before the fall semester, the LBCA Foundation will mail a check directly to the university or technical school where the funds will be directly applied to the student’s account to help cover expenses associated with his/her education.

For questions or more information contact us by email at lbcascholarships@gmail.com.  If you wish to pay by check, download this form to accompany your payment:  Scholarship Donation Form.

Thank you for joining your Lake Burton friends and neighbors in supporting worthy Rabun County students.  Remember, your scholarship fund contribution through the LBCA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, is tax deductible.
