Why Join LBCA
The Lake Burton Civic Association (LBCA) stands as a beacon of community engagement, environmental stewardship, and public safety. Since its founding in 1969, LBCA has evolved from a grassroots effort to support Volunteer Fire Departments (VFDs) into a multifaceted organization that touches nearly every aspect of lake life.
Today, LBCA focuses on four key areas:
Water Quality
Water testing and aquatic plant monitoring across eight lake zones
Annual lake clean-up days, in partnership with Georgia Power
Water Safety
DNR safety meetings
Educational video productions
Preservation
Ongoing project to mitigate shoreline erosion threats to Billy Goat Island
Monitor and raise awareness of any environmental issues impacting preservation
Community Building
Offer events like the Summer Vibes concerts, the Tour of Homes, the Annual LBCA Golf Tournament and much more
Maintain Lake Burton Park
LBCA Foundation Grants Program* supports VFDs and Rabun County charitable organizations
LBCA Foundation Scholarship Program* awards scholarships to promising Rabun County students
*All LBCA Foundation expenses are funded through donations.

Who can join?
- Waterfront property owners on Lake Burton.
- Property owners in an off-lake developed area within the "boundary" roads around Lake Burton: US Highway 76, Charlie Mountain Road, Bridge Creek Road, Burton Dam Road and GA Highway 197.
- Owners of residential property fronting on or in a subdivision fronting on the boundary roads listed above.
- If you do not live within the boundaries listed above, you can join as an Associate Member.
